1. Definition

A "Specialists' Committee" is a working group formed by the chairmen of the considered specialists' or technical group of the CEAS Member Societies.

For example : The chairmen of the specialists' groups on AERODYNAMICS within the CEAS form the AERODYNAMICS SPECIALISTS' COMMITTEE.

 

 
 

2. Existing Specialists' Committees

Actually, there exist eight Specialists' Committees. They comprise :

 

 
Aeroacoustics.

Aerodynamics.

Air Transport.

Avionics.

History.

Propulsion.

Space.

Structures and Materials.

 

3. Composition of the Specialists' Committees.

The responsible of a Specialists' Committee is called "Specialists' Committee Coordinator".

4. Duration of the Mandate of the Specialists' Committee Coordinator

  Each Coordinator has a two-year mandate starting from January 1, 1993.

5. Mission of the Specialists' Committees

 

The most important mission of a specialists' committee shall be the preparation of a four-year plan of CEAS Fora concerning its area.

The committee can also propose other actions in its working sector, or be asked by the CEAS President to work on certain subjects such as:

"Position Papers" on a particular problem,

synthetic documents, etc.

The committee can also propose studies to the CEAS Council to be done under contract for the CEC, UEO, UNESCO, etc.

The Specialists'Committees shall meet at least once a year, possibly more often. A copy of the minutes of each meeting shall be sent to the Chairman of the CEAS Programme Coordination Committee.




6. Missio
n of the Specialists' Committee Coordinator


The Specialists' Committee Coordinator is appointed by the committee and shall be part of this committee. The duration of his mandate is two years.

His mission:

To organize meetings of the Specialists' Committee,

to edit and distribute the minutes of each committee meeting,

to supervise the preparation of the CEAS Fora.
