CONFEDERATION OF EUROPEAN AEROSPACE SOCIETIES

YAPC General Information

YOUNG AEROSPACE PROFESSIONALS COMMITTEE
(YAPC)

1. TERMS OF REFERENCE. Specialists' Committees .

2. CREATION

The CEAS YAPC is instituted as one of the Specialist Committees of the CEAS, and it has been founded to serve and support the young aerospace community in Europe..

The main consideration leading to the creation of the YAPC is the realisation that the professional needs and concerns of a young European aerospace professional ( term which from now on is meant to include graduates or students ) are markedly different to those of an older and better established engineer, and deserving of special consideration. There is, at the time of the creation of the YAPC, little or no structured cooperation between young European aerospace professionals to specifically address their needs and concerns at an international level. Only at student level some cooperation is currently visible.

It is felt that there is much to be gained by closer collaboration between young aerospace professionals of the various European countries. This joint effort would mainly, but not only, be aimed at the study of their specific professional and career issues and the search of combined solutions to them.

3. OBJECTIVES

The YAPC is created with a triple purpose :

In order to achieve these goals, the tasks of the YAPC will include, but not be limited to, the following :

  1. Coordinate activities at a national / international level to promote a much needed coming together between young aerospace Europeans and their respective national aerospace associations or CEAS.
  2. Creation and coordination of international job searching resources for CEAS young aerospace professionals.
  3. Provide centralised information to young European graduates and professionals wishing to pursue postgraduate aerospace education in another country.
  4. Study the present and foreseeable working environments of the future European aerospace professionals.
  5. Encourage, initiate and endorse position papers on career and professional issues affecting young aerospace professionals, as and when required.
  6. Liaise between CEAS and other national / international aerospace organisations of a juvenile or student nature.
  7. Represent CEAS in every event where the YAPC Board and the CEAS Council considers that its young members should participate.
  8. Provide the CEAS Council with information on major developments on educational or professional developments which may have an impact on the European aerospace community.
  9. Provide the CEAS Council, or any other CEAS organ, with assistance and expertise in all those activities and issues of a young professional nature that may arise in the future in which our collaboration is required.
